After I asked around, I was told San Diego has more private golf courses than almost any other community. But the one course that kept coming up as the ideal or most often requested course to play is Torrey Pines
Designed by legendary course architect William P. Bell and completed by his son, William F. Bell, Torrey Pines opened in 1957, and offers two 18-hole Championship courses; the North and South courses.
We now have Richard Ocampo heading up the series of 7 tournaments in the San Diego area. There will be six tournaments and a Tee Off all played before the end of June.
We’ll keep you posted on the dates as they are secured right after the first of the year.
The great thing about playing golf in the San Diego area is there are no bad days. Even in the worst weather conditions, it’s comfortable to play.
I am sure Richard will appreciate your help if you have any suggestions about playing in the San Diego area. He’s spent some time in the Los Angeles area, but now lives in the San Joaquin Valley in Northern California.
Most of the set up work, including the corporate sponsorship can be done from anywhere, so it is great to have Richard on the UBU team!
