I am in search of a great event planner who can see the big picture.
I’ve interviewed about five event planning companies so far and their joint negativity is exactly why this country is struggling financially.
It is so hard to find people who think of possibilities rather than the pessimism. I have witnessed many financial upheavals in the 30 years I’ve been in the Bay Area and tied to the business community. But one thing has always been for sure.
There is always more than enough money if you go to the right place. No one has come along and scooped up all the money and hid it . . . the money is just located in a different place than it was a couple of years ago.
So I finally met with a special ed teacher who has experience with fund raising and working with event planners who are conscious enough to know how to engage with corporate sponsors.
I love it when people get out of their own way long enough to figure out how to accomplish a goal rather than wallowing in all the reasons why something won’t work.
When we focus on what is possible, there is no limit. That is what the golf tournament with meant to support. Taking boys from the Bay Area who have no hope unless someone steps up to the plate to help them get off the streets before it’s too late.
It’s a responsibility that all of us share!
